COVID-19 Service Info

Find out about in-person and online services!

Mexia First Is Open!

Under the guidelines of government officials, Mexia First will have in-person services this weekend.  However, things will be different than usual.

While we cannot guarantee a germ-free environment, we are taking steps to help prevent transmission of Covid-19.  You can read more about those steps below.  If you are sick, have a fever, present any signs of cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have been in contact with anyone who has had COVID-19 in the past 14 days, please stay home.

We care about your health and safety.  If you are in a high-risk group, we encourage you to continue attending online at this time.

What About My Kids?

Kids Ministry for Birth through 5th Grade is open!  Find more info on our safety guidelines below!  If your child is with you in service and they become upset or disruptive, we just ask that you step out into the lobby for a few moments until they are calmed.  We’re excited to see you AND your kids in church!

Our Guidelines for Your Safety

______________________________________________________

Our sanctuary has been re-set to allow for social distancing.  We’ve measured and observed the federal standards – six feet between family units.

  • Before every service, the sanctuary and all high-touch surfaces will be disinfected.  We will only allow people in the room after that procedure is complete.
  • Greeters will be wearing masks.  We will not shake hands, hug, or high five.  Instead, we will air hug, wave, and smile
  • Hand sanitizing stations are set up throughout the building.  We encourage their frequent use.
  • To help prevent the spread of infection, everyone is required to wear a face mask.  If you forget, one will be provided for you.  Children under the age of ten are not required to wear a mask as per the exemptions to the executive order.  If you have a health condition that makes it impossible for you to wear a mask, exempted per the executive order
  • Common areas and gathering spaces of the building will be closed.  That includes the coffee bar and water water stations and any place where people might congregate such as the lobby and fellowship hall..
  • If you need to sneeze or cough, please cover your mouth and nose or sneeze into your elbow.
  • We will continually wipe down surfaces in the restrooms and other high-touch areas.
  • We will not distribute any bulletins.  Offering envelopes will be placed on the chairs.  Extras will be removed and destroyed between services.
  • We encourage you to continue giving online.  During services, we will take an offering.  Ushers will wear masks and gloves.  They will walk to your family and allow you to drop your offering into a bucket, touch-free.

HVKM Early Childhood Reopening Guidelines

We can’t wait to reopen our on-site High Voltage Early Childhood Ministry for Birth – Pre-K!  We love your children and are working hard to provide a fun, safe environment!

Guidelines During COVID-19:

All Early Childhood workers will be screened and have their temperature checked every time they serve.  They will wear name tags and masks the entire time they serve.  Gloves will be worn as needed.

All children will have their temperature checked and we will ask parents to verify the following:

  • My child does not have a fever (100°F or higher) and has not used medication to reduce fever within the last 24 hours.
  • My child does not have a cough, shortness of breath, or other COVID-19 symptoms.
  • My child has not had pneumonia recently.
  • No one in my household has had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

Classrooms will be set up to allow for space between children, but at times children may be closer than the recommended 6 feet.

Children will be given individual supplies that will not be shared with others.

All areas, toys, and supplies will be cleaned before and after services.

We will encourage children to wash their hands often and use hand sanitizer as needed.

We will encourage children over 2 to wear masks through fun games and gentle reminders when possible – but wearing a mask is not required. Parents can provide masks and we will have disposable masks available.

This will help ensure we are appropriately staffed.

Check-In Process:

  • Check-In will open 20 minutes before service.
  • There will be a temperature check station in the Fellowship Hall where your child’s temperature will be taken with a no contact thermometer.  Children with a temperature of 100°F or more will not be allowed to enter the Early Childhood Area.
  • Parents will take their child to the temperature check station, then proceed to the Check-In Counter.  At check-in, parents will receive 2 matching security stickers.  You will place one sticker on your child’s back and assist with putting on your child’s mask, if applicable. You will keep the second sticker to present at check-out when you pick up child.
  • Each child will sanitize their hands as they enter the kids' wing.  Hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • Doors will be propped open for children who can walk on their own.  Teachers will carry children who are unable to walk.
  • Parents will not be permitted beyond the Check-In Counter.

Pick Up & Check Out Process:

  • Parents will pick up their child under the awning at the front of the Kids' Wing.  You should remain in your vehicles at all times.  You should have your printed security sticker ready to present and one of our staff members will bring your child out to you.
